“Cotton”

A very short flash today, by Lydia Copeland Gwyn from a year ago–the Spring 2013 issue of New World Writing. The story is a world-in-miniature, called “Cotton.”

My Overview:

“Cotton” is not a story that can be summed in terms of its elements or plot. It is a window, a welcoming into a moment of being–and the moment is full, and fresh, and feeling-all-over. It’s a paragraph long, so just read it. And then read it again, slower. And maybe once more, out loud. Every word matters.
